Schools that failed to meet their Growth Targets but received a One Star, Two Stars, or Three Stars Performance Label began to enter Academic Assistance (AA). Such schools were to receive additional support and assistance, with the expectation that efforts were to be made by students, parents, teachers, principals, administrators, and the school board to improve student achievement at these schools.
