Accountability and Subgroup Performance Scores

  • Learn More...
On an annual basis, Louisiana’s public schools receive a School Performance Score (SPS) indicating the academic status of the school’s students. The SPS of each school is a weighted composite index, based upon how students perform on various assessments, student attendance, and the dropout rates in schools with grades 7 and 8. The Graduation Index replaced the student attendance and dropout indices in schools with a grade 12. Elementary and secondary schools are expected to improve their SPS by increasing attendance and student achievement while also reducing dropouts in grades 7 and 8.
(For more information, please see Bulletin 111: The Louisiana School, District, and State Accountability System).
    Important Note
    • Prior to 2007-08, Subgroup Performance Scores reflect the Group Performance Scores (GPS). Beginning in 2007-08, Subgroup Performance Scores reflect the Subgroup Assessment Index (SAI).
